THE HUSBAND IS IN CHURCH RIGHT NOW. Not the one you are thinking of. We have two extra kinds of church in our house -- one is held on Monday nights and the husband attends faithfully. It is called WWE. I do not watch or approve of this church, but I adore The Husband, so I try not to sigh to much when he is watching it. The other church is on Sunday nights when I am watching Madam Secretary. The kids know that Mama is unavailable when it is on. The Husband tolerates this, and never sighs like I do during his "services". He is more advanced than I am.
The Offspring are in the depths of despair tonight. We cut the technology cord again. During the school year they can't plan video games, goof on the computer or use the iPads during week nights. The Boy is slumping around the house saying things like, 'I am bored. Bored. Bored." I've pointed out that this is the perfect time to clean up his room -- he glared at me.
I'm trying to be fair about the whole deal, and leave my phone alone until they go to bed. Not an easy task when I can see 11 emails blinking at me. It's probably just more work stuff. I'm not good at ignoring emails. I usually open them as soon as they scoot into my inbox. It bugs me when I can see a little red number next to my in box.
Even the cats are restless tonight -- of course that isn't unusual. This is the time of day when the kitten says, "Hey, buddy! Let's play!! C'mon! It'll be awesome!" And the older cat simply glares at him, and then turns away. After awhile, though, if no one is looking the older cat chases the little guy around like they are pals. I love that about cats -- they are so into the esthetics of things. The grown cat has to look irritated with the little guy, even after she's come to accept him. There must be a sense of decorum after all.
I'm gong to drag myself to the gym when the kids go to bed. I used to be an early morning gym person, but there's no way I can squeeze into my schedule in the morning nowadays. I started going around 8 p.m. which I didn't think I would like it, but turns out I really like it. It helps me fall asleep. I work out, and come home and crash. A couple of times, I even took my pjs to the gym, and put them on after my workout. Of course, I ran into a student who was also leaving the gym with her parents (way too late for a school night if you ask me) and there I was wearing my Almoose'd Asleep pjs which are covered in moose.
I'm hoping that you are doing well. I hope that your day was awesome. But even if your day has been kind of ordinary like mine, that's okay too. Life is filled with lots of awesome, crazy, stellar days, and lots of ordinary ones too. We are all lucky to have both kinds.
