It was on this very day many, many, many, many years ago, that I was born. To celebrate this momentous occasion, the family decided to have strangers make us breakfast. We drove to my new FAVORITE breakfast place, The Fremont Diner. The Sister and I stumbled upon it during her visit, and it turns out that I kind of puffy-heart love it. I was really torn between ordering their eggs benedict which are amazing, and pancakes, but the Boy said he was getting pancakes and I knew that I was all good. He's never finished a plate of anything.
We had a lowkey birthday. After I forced the family to clean the apartment for me, I took the kids swimming. Any day spent poolside, can't be all bad. I was even brilliant enough to remember to hide in the shade, and so am NOT bright red right now. I just polished off a bowl of popcorn, made specifically for me by the Husband. His popcorn is really good. It also involves and ENTIRE stick of butter, so it isn't that good for you.
The Girl and I spent the last part of the evening watching All That. This was her first exposure to '90s TV and she was slightly entertained and slightly frightened. Seems appropriate. I know you millenials out there remember the show with fondness, and little tiny Amanda Bynes looks downright wholesome. The Girl asked, "Did everyone dress like that?" I reassured her that I did not. "Yeah, but you were already old in the '90s." The painful truth of this was especially harsh on this, my birthday.
All in all, though, it was a nice day, and it carries with it the promise of more sunny days ahead, many of them spent poolside with my family around me. It's a pretty good life.
Keep moving forward,
