WE ARE STILL WORKING ON HOMEWORK, and yes I am saying “we” for a reason. Some of my Offspring need support with understanding their assignments. They are a wicked smart kid, but have some processing issues that make homework a joint endeavor. Thursday, as you know, is my longer day. I teach and then coach leadership and THEN have a meeting, so I don’t get off work until 6. I really enjoy leadership and today was a good day. We were super busy and I got to show them the official proof of our yearbook. They kept pointing and saying, “I took that picture!” It was cute and I can’t wait until they can hold it in their hands.
My reading class went much better today because I was much clearer about what I wanted them to do. We broke the class into three parts and had specific work for each of the parts. I also moved a few people around during work time, and it helped. I am so pleased with how much my students have grown over the school year. Here we are at day 155 and they definitely are stronger readers and writers than they were on day 1. It has been a really long journey and I can’t believe that we are closing in on the end. I know things will be different for me next year - what I do and my schedule will change. I hope that I go into next year’s reading class a stronger reading teacher because of all that we have worked on this year.
Now, that testing has begun, we are really working on our TED Talks, and I am pleased to see the work that students are putting into them. I can’t wait until we reach the place where we are ready to start performing them.
Now, I am going to crawl into bed for some serious rest because tomorrow will be here in the blink of an eye.
Keep moving forward,
