IF YOU ASK MY DAD how he’s doing, he always responds with, “Better than I deserve.” I experienced an entire day of “better than I deserve”.
First of all let’s talk about my brand new BESTIE, Mr. Promethean Board
He is a thing of wonder. He arrived miraculously whilst I was in a training yesterday, and due to my schedule and my life, I could only look at him as I rushed out the door. Today, I figured out how to connect my computer, annotate my screen, use a time, turn it into a whiteboard and embed all kinds of charts and tools. AND I haven’t officially been trained yet. Can you image what the future holds? My students could see everything I demonstrated for them on the board, and when I played a video for them — THEY COULD HEAR IT. I cannot wait to show it to my littles tomorrow.
While I was trying to figure out how to use my new Promethean board, a package was delivered to my classroom and it was filled to the brim with art goodies. Yesterday, we had an awesome art training, but they didn’t have enough art goodie bags to go around. And today BAM! All the art supplies are now in my classroom. I can’t wait to bust out some of the activities!
DID YOU KNOW BRENE BROWN has an entire CLASSROOM HUB? SERIOUSLY!! The Daring Classroom and it is pretty much awesome! She has an intro where she talks about educators and it is amazing. She goes on to say that her team put a ton of work into creating Daring Leadership support materials so that teachers could create a Daring Classroom AND EVERY DING, DANG PART OF IT IS FREE!!! WHO DOES THAT?
This one is part annoying and part wonderful. Since we got home this afternoon The Husband and The Offspring are torturing/teasing each other with some new sort of dance crazy that I am too much of an old lady to know about. I believe it is called the Hoedown Challenge. DO NOT LOOK IT UP — you don’t have that kind of time for this rabbit trail. But I do GIANT, PUFFY-HEART love listening to the three of them laugh and see them dancing together.
Those are just the giant highlights of a day filled to the brim with goodness. AND on top of all that, I had a Little Lucca’s sandwich today — so unbelievably delicious. My San Fransisco people understand. Also, I got to hang out with an awesome team, trying to figure the best path for our digital portfolios at schools. I LOVE hanging out with big-brained people.
Keep moving forward,
