WELCOME TO TUESDAY. Also, I realized I was off by a day on my count. In my classroom, I have a little chalkboard where I keep track of what day it is, and I realized this morning that I had already written 23 yesterday. Long story made unnecessarily long — my count was off.
Today was day TWO of prep and practice for our upcoming living history museum. After giving my students a good amount of time to practice I had them stop and perform in front of their classmates. This made them really nervous, but also revealed to them the need to be focused on preparing for their performances. After this practice performance, I let them go back to practicing, and they were MUCH MORE SERIOUS about what they are doing. I am thinking and rethinking this performance - trying to figure out the best way to use the space in my classroom.
I’ve got the I-am-not-feeling-great-because-I-am-a-teacher-and-encounter-1,000,000-germs-every-day vibes. It happens from time to time. I am not sick, precisely, but don’t feel great. I am kind of a little bit fuzzy. Also, I can’t believe that tomorrow is Wednesday AGAIN. The weeks just really seem to fly past. AND here' is something crazy — SOME FRIENDS OF MINE JUST STARTED SCHOOL LAST WEEK. We are on week 5 and they are just getting started. It is kind of crazy.
What is even crazier is that I started this post around 7 pm last night and then decided to “lay down for a minute”. My husband said I was asleep by 8:15! I woke up briefly around 9:30 thinking it was 2 in the morning. I greet my students at the door every day, and I do shake their hands. I, of course, wash my hands and use hand sanitizer, but germs, am I right?
So here is to day 25 and day 24. No promises for a blog tonight. I will probably be in bed by 7:45 p.m.
Keep moving forward,
